The rubber boot on my 3130 got torn, so I'm trying to replace it. I managed to get the tie rod out of the hub,
but I can't get the tie rod end off, so I can slide on the new boot. Is the tie-rod nut that hard to turn off, do I need to heat it with a torch? any ideas ???????

You might have to use heat if they are rusty but they should unscrew with no trouble. Make sure that you put it back to the adjustment. ....

I borrowed a large pipe wrench from work, bout 24" long, and that gave me the leverage I needed.

Thanks Art, this forum wouldn't be the same without your helpful knowledge, I appreciate your help!! ....
